DERMAL FILLERS NYC
COSMETIC INJECTIONS
Dermal Fillers in NYC can provide patients with dramatic improvements to their facial appearance without the need to undergo a surgical procedure. As we get older, the face is the first area of the body to show signs of aging. Fine lines and wrinkles, loss of volume, and sagging skin are some of the most common signs of aging to appear. Not only do cosmetic injectables combat these concerns, but they can be used as a preventative measure to stop them from surfacing in the first place. All of our providers at Dermatology, Laser & Surgery of Carnegie Hill are board-certified dermatologists and physician assistants who can help you obtain youthful, natural-looking results when opting for cosmetic injectables.
BOTOX® COSMETIC
Botox® is among the most popular dermal fillers in NYC for its anti-aging properties. Over time, the repetitive use of certain facial muscles can lead to the development of deep facial lines and wrinkles. Botox® injections can reverse, as well as prevent, these signs of aging by limiting the mobility of the muscles, temporarily relaxing the facial muscles, and restoring youthfulness to the face.
HOW DOES BOTOX® COSMETIC WORK?
Botox® uses a toxin called botulinum toxin. Botox®, a neurotoxin, was the first medication to use the botulinum toxin. The primary substance used in Botox® injections, botulinum toxin A, is carefully extracted, purified, and standardized into FDA-approved doses. The dose is so small, it can’t travel beyond the muscle tissue it’s injected into. This means that it’s unlikely for Botox® to enter the bloodstream. In extremely small concentrations, the botulinum toxin has proven to be a successful and valuable therapeutic protein. Injected Botox® prevents the release of acetylcholine to prevent muscle contractions and muscle stiffness.
Whenever you laugh, squint, or frown, certain facial muscles contract. Over the years, these repetitive movements create lines and wrinkles on your face. Botox® smooths these lines by reducing muscle activity and relaxing the underlying muscles. Once the muscles are at rest, the skin becomes smoother, creating a more natural and refreshed appearance. Botox® can target the underlying causes of the common signs of facial aging such as frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines.

IS BOTOX® COSMETIC SAFE?
Botox® is an FDA-approved treatment that has proven to be effective in diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by the overuse of specific facial muscles. If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a neurological or neuromuscular disease, it isn’t recommended that you receive Botox injections.
Botox® should only be injected by experienced doctors. If administered incorrectly, Botox® may lead to adverse side effects. At Dermatology, Laser & Surgery of Carnegie Hill, our board-certified dermatologists and physician assistants have extensive experience administering Botox® injections.
HOW LONG DOES BOTOX® LAST?
After receiving Botox® injections, most patients will begin to notice results after 24-48 hours. Full results can be seen within 30 days of receiving the treatment. The time it takes for Botox® to start working depends on a variety of different factors, including the area being treated, how many units of Botox® are injected, and how active a patient is following their treatment.
Although results will vary for every patient, results can last up to 4 months following the initial injections. It is common for results to last a shorter period of time for patients receiving Botox® for the first time. However, results are known to last significantly longer after the second treatment. Each patient will experience slightly different results.
WHAT DOES THE RECOVERY PERIOD LOOK LIKE AFTER BOTOX COSMETIC?
Botox® is a non-invasive solution to combat common signs of aging that surface on the face. Considering no anesthesia is required to undergo this procedure, patients are able to resume their daily activities almost immediately following receiving their Botox® injections. In order to maximize the effectiveness of Botox® injections, it is suggested that patients refrain from exercising for at least 24 hours following their injections. Additionally, it is recommended patients remain upright for at least 4 hours following their injections. This will decrease the chances of bruising. Patients should refrain from touching their face for 1-3 days following the procedure to prevent Botox® migration.
Following Botox® injections, some patients may experience minor side effects. These side effects may include symptoms such as headaches, neck pain, or flu-like symptoms. Redness, swelling, and bruising around injection sites are normal and should subside within the days following the procedure. Some patients may have an allergic reaction, which may include itching, rash, redness, wheezing, asthma, or dizziness. More serious complications are rare, but should any problems arise with breathing, speaking, or swallowing, seek medical attention immediately.

XEOMIN® COSMETIC INJECTABLE
Xeomin® is an FDA-approved neurotoxin that is much like Botox®. Xeomin® is injected into the subdermal layer of skin to limit repetitive facial movements by blocking the nerve impulses that are needed for contraction. Xeomin® is designed to relax the facial muscles and decrease movement, allowing patients to smooth existing fine lines and wrinkles, as well as prevent new signs of aging from surfacing. Xeomin® is the purest form of neurotoxin, providing a non-surgical solution to common signs of facial aging. Xeomin® can be used to treat forehead creases and crow’s feet, as well as areas around the mouth, chin, nose, jaw, and neck.
HOW DOES XEOMIN® WORK?
As we age, the repetition of facial expressions, such as scowling, laughing, or squinting your eyes, will leave a lasting mark on your face. Much like Botox® Cosmetic, Xeomin® works by limiting movement to areas of the face that are prone to developing wrinkles due to excess movement. By blocking the signal from the nerve to the muscles, Xeomin® relaxes the muscles and provides anti-aging effects. This non-surgical treatment can provide patients with rejuvenating results that don’t require extensive downtime or recovery periods.
Although Xeomin® is seemingly very similar to Botox® Cosmetic, there are significant differences between these two neurotoxins. The main difference has to do with the formulation. Xeomin® is a “naked” neurotoxin, which means that Xeomin® contains only a single ingredient: botulinum toxin A. This means patients have a lower chance of developing resistance that can limit its desired effects. Botox® includes various protective proteins clustered around the active muscle.
XEOMIN® BENEFITS |
SMOOTHS THE FACIAL SKIN |
TARGETS MODERATE-TO-SEVERE LINES & WRINKLES |
SHORT PROCEDURE TIME |
FAST RECOVERY TIME |
NOTICEABLE RESULTS WITHIN 2 WEEKS |
IS XEOMIN® SAFE?
Neurotoxins, such as Xeomin® and Botox®, are prescription injectables that have proven to be successful in decreasing common signs of facial aging. Xeomin® is FDA-approved and deemed safe for use for individuals over the age of 18. Xeomin® is not recommended for use by women who are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Additionally, individuals who have had any side effects caused by botulinum toxin in the past should refrain from receiving Xeomin®.
Xeomin® should only be injected by experienced doctors. If administered incorrectly, Xeomin® may lead to adverse side effects. At Dermatology, Laser & Surgery of Carnegie Hill, our board-certified dermatologists and physician assistants have extensive experience administering Xeomin® injections. The placement of your Xeomin® injection is important, as precise placement is necessary to avoid side effects. Our dermatologists specialize in Xeomin® treatments. A certified provider can advise you on your treatment and help determine if Xeomin® is right for you.
HOW LONG DOES XEOMIN® LAST?
Xeomin® injections take approximately 10-20 minutes to administer. After receiving Xeomin® injections, some patients may see results immediately. However, each person will react to the filler differently and results will become apparent at differing paces. Within 3-4 days after receiving your treatment, you will begin to notice results. In most cases, full results will become visible within a month of the treatment. Results will vary per patient.
Much like Botox, Xeomin® will require multiple treatments to maintain the anti-aging effects. Depending on the patient, Xeomin® results can last anywhere from 3-6 months. Also, depending on the severity of the patient’s problem areas, as well as their overall lifestyle and skin health, the lasting power of Xeomin® will vary. When it comes to maximizing your Xeomin® results, studies have shown that dermal filler results may last longer when used alongside a neurotoxin. Our dermatologists can discuss which dermal fillers and cosmetic injectables can best achieve your procedure goals. Xeomin® injections are highly-customizable and touched up on an as-needed basis.
WHAT DOES THE RECOVERY PERIOD LOOK LIKE AFTER XEOMIN®?
Patients can usually resume their activities immediately following Xeomin® treatment. However, it is recommended that patients take it easy for the rest of the day after their procedure, as well as the following day. To maximize longevity, patients should follow aftercare instructions carefully. You may experience mild redness, bruising, or swelling for a few days following your procedure, however, this is normal.
HOW DO I LEARN MORE ABOUT XEOMIN® TREATMENT?
The doctors and staff at Dermatology, Laser & Surgery of Carnegie Hill would be happy to discuss Xeomin® in more detail. Please give us a call at 646-661-6131 or request an appointment online for a personal consultation at our New York offices.
DYSPORT®
Dysport® is an FDA-approved treatment for facial wrinkles. Like Botox® and Xeomin®, Dysport® is made from botulinum toxin A. Dysport® is a neurotoxin designed to smooth wrinkles and creases in the forehead and improve crow’s feet. Dysport® can also reduce the prominence of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, chin, nose, jaw, and neck. Dysport® is injected into the facial muscle to temporarily block nerve impulses that cause muscle contractions. Dysport® is natural-looking, fast-acting, and long-lasting.
HOW DOES DYSPORT® WORK?
Dysport®, known as abobotulinumtoxinA, is made from the bacteria that causes botulism. The primary substance used in Dysport® injections, botulinum toxin A, is carefully extracted, purified, and standardized into FDA-approved doses. When injected, Dysport® prevents the release of acetylcholine, which is a chemical that prevents the contraction of muscles. Dysport® can directly target problem areas and provide significant improvements with as little as 5 small injections. Dysport® can treat the same facial lines treated by Botox®, including laugh lines or crows’ feet around the eyes, frown lines on the forehead, and other facial lines around the jaw, nose, chin, and neck.
Dysport® is designed to treat newer facial wrinkles and fine lines. Deeper creases are more difficult to address, while newer wrinkles are easier to treat. Dysport® is used by many dermatologists as a preventive treatment to protect against the formation of deeper wrinkles. Dysport® tends to diffuse more than Botox®, causing it to spread to a broader area after it’s injected. This means a larger treatment area can be addressed in fewer injections, which can be beneficial when relaxing muscles of a larger area. At times, dermatologists may even use multiple neurotoxins concurrently in a single treatment to most effectively produce a patient’s desired result. Doctors may choose Dysport® for a larger area and choose another neurotoxin for a smaller area, such as treating crows’ feet.
DYSPORT BENEFITS |
VERSATILE TREATMENT |
NO DOWNTIME |
PREVENTS NEW WRINKLES FROM SURFACING |
NATURAL-LOOKING RESULTS |
IS DYSPORT® SAFE?
Dysport® is intended for use by healthy individuals that are over the age of 18 and experiencing moderate-to-severe facial lines. Before undergoing this procedure, our doctors will review your medical history to ensure you are an ideal candidate for Dysport®. Dysport® is FDA-approved for the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles.
Dysport® should only be injected by experienced doctors. If administered incorrectly, Dysport® may lead to adverse side effects. At Dermatology, Laser & Surgery of Carnegie Hill, our board-certified dermatologists and physician assistants have extensive experience administering Dysport® injections. The placement of your Dysport® injection is important, as precise placement is necessary to avoid side effects.
HOW LONG DOES DYSPORT® LAST?
The results of Dysport® can be seen almost immediately after it is administered by an experienced physician. Although all patients will not achieve results at the same rate, in most cases, patients will notice that their skin feels smoother and more supple shortly after the procedure is completed. In addition, most patients will notice that any existing wrinkles begin to appear less noticeable. Patients can expect to see their full results within 4 days of receiving their injections.
Depending on the severity of the patient’s wrinkles, the results of Dysport® can be expected to last 3-4 months. To increase the longevity of your results, multiple sessions may be required. In most cases, 3-4 treatments will be required to maximize the longevity of results.
WHAT DOES THE RECOVERY PERIOD LOOK LIKE AFTER DYSPORT®?
Dysport® is a non-invasive procedure that has proven to be highly effective when it comes to the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles. Dysport® does not require extensive downtime and patients can return to their daily activities almost immediately following the procedure. Patients may experience mild bruising, swelling, or redness surrounding their injection sites, but this is normal and should subside in the days following the procedure.
With all fillers and injectables, good aftercare will help to maximize the results and prevents any complications after receiving the treatment. Following your Dysport® injections, it is recommended that patients should avoid lying on their back, touching the injection sites, and vigorous exercise. By doing so, patients will lessen the chances of their dermal filler migrating to other areas of the face, allowing for the results of the Dysport® injections to be maximized.
HOW DO I LEARN MORE ABOUT DYSPORT® TREATMENT?
The doctors and staff at Dermatology, Laser & Surgery of Carnegie Hill would be happy to discuss Dysport® in more detail. Please give us a call at 646-661-6131 or request an appointment online for a personal consultation at our New York offices.
JEUVEAU®
Jeuveau® is a neurotoxin identical to Botox® in its formulation. Jeuveau® is the first neurotoxin to be released by a company dedicated to aesthetics, as opposed to a medical company dedicated to treating medical conditions, such as migraines, muscle spasms, and the like. Jeuveau® is designed to treat the appearance of moderate-to-severe wrinkles between the eyebrows, otherwise known as “frown lines.” Jeuveau® injections can temporarily improve the appearance of these wrinkles, providing rejuvenating results for those struggling with glabellar lines.
HOW DOES JEUVEAU® WORK?
Over time, the repetition of specific facial movements can contribute to the development of fine lines, wrinkles, and even deep creases on the face. Smiling, laughing, furrowing our brows, and frowning are just some of the facial expressions we use every day that can be increasing the severity of these signs and cause us to look older than we feel. Jeuveau® can treat the appearance of wrinkles that surface between the eyebrows, often referred to as “frown lines” by temporarily relaxing the repetitive facial movements that create creases in the skin.
Similar to Botox®, Jeuveau® is made from the bacteria that causes botulism. The primary substance used in Jeuveau® injections is botulinum toxin A. This substance is carefully extracted, purified, and standardized into FDA-approved doses. Since these doses are small, they do not travel further than the treatment area. When injected, Jeuveau® prevents the contraction of muscle cells by blocking nerve activity.
JEUVEAU® BENEFITS |
SMOOTHS WRINKLES BETWEEN EYEBROWS |
SAFE & EFFECTIVE |
NEWER FORMULATION |
TAKES MINUTES TO INJECT |
IS JEUVEAU® SAFE?
Jeuveau® is a safe and effective FDA-approved treatment for wrinkles. You should not receive Jeuveau® if you have had an allergic reaction to botulinum toxin in the past. If you have an infection, swelling, or muscle weakness in the treatment area, you should not undergo Jeuveau® treatment. Additionally, patients who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding should speak with a doctor before opting for Jeuveau® injections.
When considering Jeuveau® injections, it is important to choose a provider who has experience administering cosmetic injectables and fillers and understands how Jeuveau® affects the facial muscles. At Dermatology, Laser & Surgery of Carnegie Hill, our board-certified dermatologists and physician assistants have extensive experience administering Jeuveau® injections. The placement of your Jeuveau® injections is important, as precise placement is necessary to avoid side effects. Our doctors specialize in Jeuveau® treatments. A certified provider can advise you on your treatment and help determine if Jeuveau® is right for you.
HOW LONG DOES JEUVEAU® LAST?
Jeuveau® injections can take anywhere from 10-20 minutes to complete, depending on the severity of the patient’s wrinkles, as well as a variety of other factors. The procedure is non-invasive and can be completed in-office. Following your Jeuveau® injections, it can take between 2-4 days for your results to become visible. After about a week, patients should notice dramatic improvements to their facial profile.
The results of Jeuveau® typically last 4-6 months. However, it is important to note that results will vary from patient to patient. The more units of Jeuveau® a patient receives, the longer their results may last. However, depending on the severity of your wrinkles, as well as your goals for the procedure, our dermatologist will discuss how many units of Jeuveau® are right for you. Multiple treatments may be necessary to maintain the results of your Jeuveau® injections.
WHAT DOES THE RECOVERY PERIOD LOOK LIKE AFTER JEUVEAU®?
Jeuveau® is injected beneath the skin to limit muscle contractions and provide patients with a smoother-looking complexion. Following Jeuveau®, no downtime is required and patients are able to return to their daily activities immediately. Mild redness, bruising, swelling, and redness are normal to occur in the days following your Jeuveau® injections.
To maximize the results of your Jeuveau® injections, it is recommended that patients visit the office every 3-4 months for a follow-up. This way, our doctors can assess the results and lasting power of the Jeuveau® and better formulate a treatment plan, if needed.
HOW DO I LEARN MORE ABOUT JEUVEAU® TREATMENT?
The doctors and staff at Dermatology, Laser & Surgery of Carnegie Hill would be happy to discuss Jeuveau® in more detail. Please give us a call at 646-661-6131 or request an appointment online for a personal consultation at our New York offices.
JUVÉDERM® ULTRA
Juvéderm® Ultra is a long-lasting dermal filler that helps reduce the signs of aging by adding volume to targeted areas. Juvéderm® Ultra is made from hyaluronic acid (commonly known as HA). Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring substance in the body that holds and attracts water to help keep the skin plump and hydrated. Because hyaluronic acid is a natural component of your own body, the results when using hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvéderm® Ultra can be incredibly natural. Juvéderm® Ultra is designed to soften moderate-to-severe lines and wrinkles, while also lifting and contouring the face.
HOW DOES JUVÉDERM® ULTRA WORK?
Hyaluronic acid fillers, also called dermal fillers, are used to plump up wrinkles, smooth lines, and fill facial folds. HA fillers add volume to correct and improve facial wrinkles, nasolabial folds (the lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth), and marionette lines (the lines from the corners of the mouth down towards the jawline). Dermal fillers can also volumize the lips, contour the chin and nose, or plump up sunken cheeks and temples for a fuller, youthful-looking appearance.
Dermal fillers in NYC such as Juvéderm® Ultra can add to features that look flat or sunken in, such as the cheeks, temples, tear troughs, under eye hollows, jawline, and lips. Thicker hyaluronic acid fillers are gels that are most appropriate for building volume in the cheeks and can be used during liquid rhinoplasty. Less dense fillers work well for wrinkles in the delicate eye area or on lines around the upper lip. Juvéderm® Ultra contains a non-animal hyaluronic acid filler derived from a naturally-occurring substance found in the skin. Juvéderm® Ultra also contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic to provide more comfort both during and after the injection.
JUVÉDERM® ULTRA BENEFITS |
SMOOTHS WRINKLES |
SCULPTS CHEEKS |
PLUMPS LIPS |
STRENGTHENS THE JAWLINE |
IS JUVÉDERM® ULTRA SAFE?
Juvéderm® Ultra is FDA-approved and safe for use. You should not receive Juvéderm® products if you’re allergic or have a sensitivity to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine. Patients with severe allergies manifested by a history of anaphylaxis or the presence of multiple allergies should not receive Juvéderm®. Juvéderm® Ultra should not be administered directly after laser treatment, deep chemical peeling, or dermabrasion. If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or plan to become pregnant, you should speak with your doctor before undergoing treatment with Juvéderm® or any other dermal fillers. If you’ve ever had an allergic reaction to any type of dermal filler, you should share this with your doctor. Anyone who has recently used blood thinners or has a bleeding disorder should avoid dermal fillers.
When considering opting for Juvéderm® Ultra, it is important to choose a doctor that is highly experienced in injecting dermal fillers. At Dermatology, Laser & Surgery of Carnegie Hill, our board-certified dermatologists and physician assistants have extensive experience administering Juvéderm® Ultra injections. The placement of your Juvéderm® Ultra injections is important, as precise placement is necessary to avoid side effects. Our doctors specialize in Juvéderm® Ultra treatments. A certified provider can advise you on your treatment and help determine if Juvéderm® Ultra is right for you.
HOW LONG DOES JUVÉDERM® ULTRA LAST?
Depending on the treatment area and patient goals, Juvéderm® Ultra injections can take anywhere from 15-40 minutes to inject. A topical anesthetic is applied to minimize patient discomfort, making the treatment fast and virtually painless. Although all patients react differently to dermal fillers in NYC, the effects of Juvéderm® Ultra are usually seen immediately with results continuing over the following weeks.
One syringe of Juvéderm® Ultra should last from four to six months, depending on how fast the metabolism in your body breaks down the hyaluronic acid. One to two treatments per year can help to maintain your Juvéderm® Ultra results. Over time, you may need less frequent visits and smaller doses thanks to the long-term benefits of continuous correction (as new collagen generates from the Juvéderm® Ultra treatment).
WHAT DOES THE RECOVERY PERIOD LOOK LIKE AFTER JUVÉDERM® ULTRA?
Juvéderm® Ultra is a non-invasive procedure that does not require extensive downtime. Following Juvéderm® Ultra, some patients may experience temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, or bruising surrounding the injection sites. In rare cases, small bumps may appear under the skin at the injection sites. However, these symptoms will subside in the days directly following your Juvéderm® Ultra procedure.
To maximize the results of the Juvéderm® Ultra, it is recommended that patients follow their aftercare instructions. For the first 24 hours following the procedure, patients should avoid intense exercise, heat and sun exposure, alcohol, excess salt, aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and lying flat. By following these recommendations, patients can prevent any additional side effects, as well as ensure their Juvéderm® Ultra does not migrate to other areas of the face.

JUVÉDERM® ULTRA PLUS
Juvéderm® Ultra Plus is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that can reduce the prominence of facial aging by adding natural-looking volume to your facial profile. Juvéderm® Ultra Plus is a thicker version of Juvéderm® Ultra. This version is used to correct more severe facial wrinkles, deep nasolabial folds, and more pronounced marionette lines, while also filling in hollows around the cheeks. Juvéderm® Ultra Plus is thicker than Belotero®, Restylane®, and Juvéderm® Ultra. It’s meant to be injected deeper into the skin than the lighter dermal fillers for more pronounced correction. In many cases, a combination of two or more dermal filler brands applied to different areas can be most effective for optimal facial rejuvenation.
HOW DOES JUVÉDERM® ULTRA PLUS WORK?
Similar to Juvéderm® Ultra, Juvéderm® Ultra Plus is a hyaluronic acid filler that smooths the complexion by filling fine lines, wrinkles, and deep facial creases. Juvéderm® Ultra Plus is injected into the mid and deep layers of the face, allowing patients to see noticeable improvements over larger areas. Juvéderm® Ultra Plus is better suited for larger areas, such as the cheeks and forehead, while Juvéderm® Ultra is thinner, allowing it to better treat wrinkles around the eyes, lips, and smaller wrinkles.
Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is found naturally in the human body. In the human body, hyaluronic acid plays a huge role in skin health, wound healing, and bone strength. When used as a cosmetic treatment, hyaluronic acid reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Juvéderm® Ultra Plus also contains lidocaine, allowing for the procedure to be quick, easy, and virtually painless.

Typically, Juvéderm® Ultra Plus lasts anywhere between 6-9 months. As patients continue with their treatments, they will find that they require less filler and can go longer between appointments.
To maximize the results of Juvéderm® Ultra Plus, it is recommended that patients take great care with following the aftercare instructions provided by their dermatologist. Although the treatment is non-invasive and doesn’t require downtime, patients should avoid rigorous exercise to minimize any bruising or swelling around the injection sites. Patients should apply ice to soothe the treatment area and avoid excessive sun exposure.

Volbella® can achieve fuller, plumper lips while still feeling and looking natural. Juvéderm Volbella® is a hyaluronic acid filler, which is a sugar that is found naturally in the body. Hyaluronic acid absorbs water, delivers nutrients, and acts as a cushioning agent. Hyaluronic acid injections can encourage the production of collagen and elastin to plump the skin and help reduce wrinkles over time.
The thin consistency of Juvéderm Volbella® makes it highly effective for treating areas of the face such as the lips and under the eyes. When injected strategically by an experienced dermatologist, Juvéderm Volbella® can provide significant improvements to thinning lips, uneven lips, fine lines, and much more. The results of Juvéderm Volbella® are long-lasting and natural-looking.

RADIESSE®
Radiesse® is a “collagen-stimulating filler,” which means that this dermal filler gives an immediate filling effect and stimulates the body’s production of collagen. This dual functionality results in a longer-lasting cosmetic effect. Radiesse® is a calcium-based filler containing calcium hydroxyapatite, a mineral-like compound that occurs naturally in human bones. Radiesse® has a thicker density and is most commonly used for nasolabial folds, marionette lines, frown lines, sunken cheeks, and hand rejuvenation. As Radiesse® is plumping your skin, it’s also stimulating the collagen in your skin, which makes it a highly sought-after dermal filler.
HOW DOES RADIESSE® WORK?
Aging, along with a variety of environmental factors including sun exposure and smoking, can cause the skin to lose volume over time. As a result, skin elasticity declines and we are left with hollowness and wrinkles. Radiesse® is made of calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa) gel microspheres. CaHa is made up of ions of phosphate and calcium, which occur naturally in the human body. Lidocaine, a local anesthetic, is combined with Radiesse® to provide more comfort both during and after injection. Radiesse® stimulates collagen production beneath the skin and allows for long-term anti-aging results.
Radiesse® injections are relatively quick. A topical anesthetic may be applied to the treatment area to help reduce any discomfort. Once that takes effect, the Radiesse® filler is injected into the target area through a fine needle. Treatments typically last fifteen to forty minutes. The injection should add volume and definition to the target area immediately. Most patients feel minimal discomfort both during and after the injection.*
RADIESSE® BENEFITS |
BOOSTS COLLAGEN PRODUCTION |
FILLS LINES, WRINKLES, AND ACNE SCARS |
OFFERS IMMEDIATE RESULTS |
NO DOWNTIME REQUIRED |
IS RADIESSE® SAFE?
Radiesse® is FDA-approved and safe for use. You should not receive Radiesse® if you’re allergic to any component of the product. Patients choosing Radiesse® for correcting volume loss in their hands should discuss the effects, risks, and benefits with their doctor. Radiesse® should not be administered directly after laser treatment, deep chemical peeling, or dermabrasion. If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant, you should speak with your doctor before opting for any dermal fillers. If you’ve ever had an allergic reaction to any type of dermal filler, you should share this with your doctor. Anyone who has recently used blood thinners or has a bleeding disorder should avoid cosmetic injectables.
HOW LONG DOES RADIESSE® LAST?
Radiesse® is a long-lasting dermal filler in NYC that fills hollow areas of the face, plumps the skin, and provides natural-looking anti-aging results. Following Radiesse®, patients will see results immediately and full results can be seen within 2 weeks. Over time, the results of your Radiesse® will fade and you may need to return for touch-ups.
After receiving Radiesse®, patients can enjoy the results for over a year, sometimes even 2 years. Because the ingredients in Radiesse® naturally-stimulate collagen production, the longevity is drastically longer than other dermal fillers. To maximize the lasting power of Radiesse®, patients should carefully follow the aftercare instructions provided by their dermatologist.
WHAT DOES THE RECOVERY PERIOD LOOK LIKE AFTER RADIESSE®?
Radiesse® is non-invasive, so there is no downtime required. Injections are quick and relatively painless. Your dermatologist will apply a topical anesthetic to ease any discomfort and use a fine needle to ensure patients remain comfortable during the injections and experience very minor side effects following the procedure. Most patients experience very little discomfort during and after the Radiesse® treatment.
Following the Radiesse® treatment, patients may experience minor redness, swelling, and bruising. However, these side effects are normal and should subside in the days following your procedure. In rare cases, small bumps may occur beneath the skin at the injection site. Any temporary discoloration or irritation caused by the injections can be easily covered with makeup.

RESTYLANE®
Restylane® is a great product line that can work for almost everyone. All Restylane® dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance found in your body that holds water and adds volume to your skin. Restylane®, like other hyaluronic acid fillers, can help reduce signs of aging skin by adding volume to targeted areas of the face. There is an array of different Restylane® formulations available, varying by product density. Our dermatologist is on hand to help you decide which Restylane® product will be best-suited to help you achieve your goals.
HOW DOES RESTYLANE® WORK?
Restylane® is a hyaluronic acid filler that provides amazing anti-aging benefits and brings definition to any features that may have lost volume as a result of aging. Hyaluronic acid fillers, also called dermal fillers, can accentuate facial contours while also reducing wrinkles, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines. Dermal fillers can add natural-looking volume and definition to features that look flat or sunken in.
Restylane® treatments are quick, one-hour office procedures. First, you have your consultation and then you undergo treatment. During your procedure, a topical anesthetic gel or cream may be applied to the target area to reduce any discomfort. Once that takes effect, Restylane® (a gel-like substance) is injected using a tiny, ultrafine needle. Treatment takes about 15-40 minutes to complete.*

Restylane® injections should be handled by a skilled and certified physician, as proper placement of the injection is necessary to achieve optimal results. Our dermatologists have years of experience administering Restylane® and can help you determine which treatment can best achieve your desired results.
HOW LONG DOES RESTYLANE® LAST?
Dermal fillers in NYC provide patients with immediate results following their treatment. Restylane® begins working as soon as it is injected. In the weeks following the treatment, Restylane® will fully settle into the skin and patients can enjoy their beautiful final results. Although results will vary per patient, Restylane® can last anywhere between 6-12 months. However, this will depend on how quickly the hyaluronic acid is broken down by the patient’s body, as well as other factors including overall health and wellness.
To maximize the lasting power of Restylane®, patients should follow the aftercare instructions provided by their doctor carefully. Restylane® must be given a chance to settle into the skin properly. Patients should avoid touching the face, as well as lying flat for at least 12 hours. Patients should also avoid excessive exercise, sun exposure, and heat to allow the product to settle into the skin.

BELOTERO®
Belotero® is similar to other hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvéderm® and Restylane®. Belotero® is very lightweight, easy to layer, and can be injected into very fine lines without creating lumps or bumps. This filler is most effective when correcting under-eye hollows (referred to as tear troughs). If you are looking to fill wrinkles or add fullness under the eyes, reduce marionette lines, or volumize the cheeks, Belotero® may be right for you.
HOW DOES BELOTERO® WORK?
The primary active ingredient in Belotero® is hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid, commonly known as HA, is a sugar that’s found naturally in your skin. As you age, your body produces less HA, which causes the skin to lose its volume and structure. Injections of hyaluronic acid can encourage the production of collagen, which helps to further firm and plump your skin and reduce wrinkles over time. Belotero® is an ideal dermal filler for thinner facial areas. It’s just the right consistency for those who want to fill under eye hollows and tear troughs. It can also be used in conjunction with a neurotoxin to smooth deep glabellar lines (the “11” lines).
Belotero® treatments can be completed in-office. First is the consultation with one of our board-certified dermatologists, followed by your procedure. During your treatment, a topical anesthetic may be applied to ease any discomfort. Belotero®, a gel-like substance, is then injected into the target area using an ultra-fine needle. The injection time is about twenty to thirty minutes. Outside of a little stinging, the procedure is not painful.*
BELOTERO® BENEFITS |
REDUCES NASOLABIAL FOLDS |
TREATS UNDER EYE HOLLOWS |
HIGHLY VERSATILE |
LOOKS NATURAL |
WORKS IMMEDIATELY |
IS BELOTERO® SAFE?
Belotero® is FDA-approved and safe for use. Belotero® is effective for all skin types and ethnicities, but should not be used by people under the age of 18, as well as women who are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Patients should not get Belotero® if they have a history of severe allergies or a history on anaphylaxis. If you’ve had any sort of allergic reaction to dermal fillers in the past, this is something you should speak with your doctor about before receiving Belotero®.
Belotero® should only be administered by dermatologists or qualified injectors. Our certified providers can advise you as to whether Belotero® is best suited to your needs.
HOW LONG DOES BELOTERO® LAST?
The beauty of fillers is that the results are immediate and you can begin to see improvements as soon as your Belotero® injection is complete. You should see full results within a week or 2 of your Belotero® injections, as the product settles fully into your skin and the final results are beautifully apparent.* Belotero® lasts a bit longer than other lightweight hyaluronic acid fillers. Belotero® can last up to a year, depending on how fast the metabolism in your body breaks down the hyaluronic acid.*
To enhance the lasting power of the Belotero® treatment, patients should follow the aftercare instructions provided by their dermatologist. After receiving Belotero® injections, patients should avoid strenuous activity, prolonged sun or heat exposure, alcoholic beverages, and aspirin/non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications.
WHAT DOES THE RECOVERY PERIOD LOOK LIKE AFTER BELOTERO®?
Belotero® is a non-invasive anti-aging treatment that allows patients to achieve rejuvenating facial results. Patients are not required to take any downtime following their treatment. Most patients return to their daily activities almost immediately after receiving their Belotero® injections.
Following Belotero®, patients may experience mild symptoms such as swelling, bruising, or redness surrounding their injection sites. This is normal and should subside within a few days of treatment.
